Calorie Log (Paprika): a calorie counter for your phone
Paprika is a one-page calorie log. Type what you ate with its calories ("banana 105"), or add your own Anthropic API key and just type "2 eggs and toast" or take a photo of the food or its nutrition label, and Claude fills in the number. The log stays in your browser: no account, no server.

Use it: https://veered.org/calorie-log/app/ (add it to your phone's home screen). Or open index.html from any web server (python3 -m http.server); add ?demo to the address to see sample entries.
What it does
- Today's total against a daily goal you set, with what is left (or over).
- Entries with a time, the parts Claude counted, and a number you can correct. Tap × twice to delete.
- Photos (with an API key): a nutrition label is read exactly; a package is named and looked up; a plate is estimated item by item. Type "2 servings" first to count more than one.
- Last 7 days as a bar chart with the goal line. Tap a day to see it.
- Backup: download the log as JSON and restore it on another phone.
Privacy
Your log is saved in this browser's local storage and never leaves your device. With an API key, the text you type or the photo you take is sent straight from your browser to Anthropic to be estimated, and the key is kept in this browser only. Barcodes alone are not looked up: the page makes no other network calls.
Name
Paprika is ground red pepper: the spice that turns a plate red.
