Please help me install and set up "Hematite" from veered.org on my own computer or server. What it is: Gym log for your phone: a four-day plan, three sets each, last time's numbers in every box. It runs on: Any web browser, best on a phone: nothing to install, and the log stays on your device. Project page: https://veered.org/gym-set-tracker/ Source code download (zip): https://veered.org/gym-set-tracker/hematite-set-tracker.zip How I'd like you to help: 1. First ask me what you need to know: my operating system and version, my desktop environment if it matters, whether I'm comfortable with the terminal, and any accounts or hardware this project needs. 2. Then take me through it one step at a time. For each command, say briefly what it does, and wait for me to paste back the result before moving on. 3. Before any step that changes system settings, uses sudo, or edits an existing configuration file, tell me, and have me make a backup first. 4. If something fails, help me work out why. If the instructions below don't fit my system, say so rather than guessing. 5. At the end, show me how to check that it works, and how to uninstall it. The project is shared as-is by its author, with no warranty. If we find a problem in the project itself, please help me write a short, clear note I can send to support@veered.org. Here is the project's documentation (README files from the download): ===== README.md ===== # Gym Set Tracker (Hematite): a workout log for your phone Hematite is a one-page gym log for a four-day plan (A, B, C, D). Each exercise has three sets, and every box shows what you did last time, so you know what to beat. It also logs cardio machines. The log stays in your browser: no account, no server. ![Day A with last time's numbers in every set](docs/screenshot.png) **Use it:** https://veered.org/gym-set-tracker/app/ (add it to your phone's home screen). Or open `index.html` from any web server (`python3 -m http.server`); add `?demo` to the address to see sample history. ## What it does - **Four rotating days.** The next day in the rotation is marked; saving a workout moves to the next one. - **Exercise groups** (Chest, Back, Legs...) with a main exercise and swaps. Add your own exercises and groups, add a second exercise to a group, remove what you don't do. A starter plan is filled in to get you going. - **Last time** for every exercise, as placeholders in each set, and a "Same as last" button. - **Weight + reps, reps only, or seconds** (for planks and holds). Weights in kg or lb. - **Cardio**: elliptical, treadmill, bike, swim, rowing machine, with the numbers each display shows. - **How to** opens a video search for the exercise's form. - **Export**: a CSV of every set for a spreadsheet, and a JSON backup to restore on another phone. ## Privacy Your plan and log are saved in this browser's local storage and never leave your device. ## Name Hematite is iron ore. The stone is dark metallic gray, and ground to powder it is blood red: the red ochre of the first cave paintings. Iron, for lifting. MIT License. ----- For Claude Code users ----- Download https://veered.org/gym-set-tracker/hematite-set-tracker.zip, unzip it into a new folder, read every README.md in it, and help me install and set up "Hematite" (Gym log for your phone: a four-day plan, three sets each, last time's numbers in every box) on this machine. Check the requirements against this system first and tell me what is missing. Ask me before running anything with sudo, installing packages, or changing existing configuration files, and back those files up first. Finish by showing me how to test it and how to uninstall it.
